That's a pretty obvious next step but the 1350W driver installer apparently does things its own way so if the windows add new hardware wizard comes up you MUST cancel it.
Turns out deleting the printer isn't enough. The printer installed fine on a different machine which was comforting, and would be a good test to run.
Had this exact problem after motherboard smoked and transferred hard disks to a new system. SOURCE: Printer status - Printer power off Communication error/printer mismatch Please report back with further information if the above advice doesn't help. Which provides good information on the meanings of the error lights. If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help. Note, however, if you can find or borrow any of the C40,42,44,60,62 service manuals, as far as ink pad replacement goes, they are the same. You will often find them for sale very cheaply on E-Bay.
A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C43 Service Manual". This requires the disassembly of the printer. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility to reset the Protection Counter. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. If the green light is flashing at the same time as the red one, this means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit.
You must now change the ink cartridge before the print will work again. If one (or more) isn't, and my response below doesn't help, would you you start a new separate post on your particular problem.Ī solitary blinking red light means that the ink level in one of your cartridges is low, but printing can continue normally until the ink runs out, at which point the red light becomes permanently on. It is presumed the 6 posts in this problem are all from the same person.
